The Royal Park Hotel Ginza 6-chome (Review)
Pop And Retro Hotel Near Tokyo’s Kabuki Theater
The Royal Park Hotel Ginza 6-chome is an hotel in the heart of Tokyo in Japan. Opened since May 30, 2024, it welcomes Japanese and international tourists in a classy and colorful decor, reminding of the neighborhood’s past and entertainment venues.
Inaugurated on May 30, 2024, The Royal Park Hotel 🏨 Ginza 6-chome is a new Tokyo venue of the Royal Park Hotels chain, operated by Japanese group Mitsubishi Estate Hotels & Resorts. It stands in the range of convenient city hotels, with a refined decoration.
In the heart of the chic and central Ginza district, the hotel is located near Tokyo’s Kabuki-za theater, on a large street perpendicular to the main avenue, and does not have any notable panoramic view. It is of an easy subway 🚇 access from Higashi-Ginza station, with a direct connection to Haneda and Narita Airports by train 🚅. The hotel is also within walking distance to Tsukiji Outer Market and Shimbashi district, and is surrounded by a variety of eateries and places to buy food: konbini, restaurants, izakaya pubs and food markets.
New address in the heart of Tokyo
The Royal Park Hotel Ginza 6-chome offers a reasonable 273 rooms (standard, corner, superior and deluxe) capacity, spreading on 15 floors and completed by:
- Ginza Lamp-Tei, a restaurant serving a yoshoku cuisine, that is to say Japanese meals with a Western inspiration, with dishes such as omurice and hamburger;
- The Kobikicho Club lounge bar, whose concept includes a karaoke animated by a "mama"; and,
- Public hot baths, at the B1 underground floor, for the exclusive use of the hotel’s customers.
The new Western-style bedding is very comfortable, rooms have a sufficient number of electric outlets, and the lighting design allows to create a near full darkness for sleeping time.
As for the standard rooms, they are spacious enough to allow for opening a suitcase on the floor, and hangers are available for clothes. The usual amenities are included, such as: air conditioning, air purification, a large flat-screen TV and a private bathroom 🛁 with a shower but no bath tub. You can still relax in a tub in the hotel’s shared bath (women and men have separate baths, small tattoos allowed) underground, using the indoor outfit and towel provided by the hotel. The higher end rooms do have a private bath tub.
The hotel also has 3 rooms for persons with reduced mobility, and a more luxurious, 67 m² suite where up to 4 persons can stay.
Successful and colorful interior design
The hotel is decorated along the concept of "Ginza Pop" that reminds of the early 20th century’s modern art, highlighted by bright and fresh colors with distinct abstract patterns. 2 colors inspired by the curtains of the Kabuki-za are used throughout the rooms floors:
- An orange-pink in rooms for couples, families and friends vacationing in Tokyo; and,
- A pale green in rooms for business people, also furnished with a desk space.
The use of brass, carpeting and wood furniture create a warm and comfy atmosphere. This chic retro-modern choice is efficient and in line with the cosmopolitan history of Ginza district, and a convincing design statement for the hotel.
Breakfast, both Western and Japanese, sweet or savory, is served every morning in a buffet at the hotel’s restaurant; it is suitable for guests with a hearty appetite. There is also a self-service snack corner at the 2nd floor, to satisfy cravings day and night.
The Royal Park Hotel Ginza 6-chome is a good accommodation option for travelers visiting Tokyo and its surroundings. The location is very convenient: with many cultural activities and food options in the evening and the possibility to stroll in very lively streets without the need to take public transportation to come back to the hotel.
