The South of Kyoto starts from Kyoto Station then includes mostly the districts of Fushimi and Minami. The southern part of the former imperial capital is like divided in two by Kamogawa river, which runs slowly towards its meeting point with Katsura river.
On the West side is a broad and very residential zone which possesses almost no tourist attractions, only the famous Nintendo company headquarters, worldwide creator of video games (and of course closed to the public).
From the other side, by walking along the Nara railway line which goes to the eponymous city, several temples and shrines are located in the hills and offer a pleasant visit to the most curious travelers coming to discover them.
