The Beautiful Night View on the City
The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Osaka Midosuji is a four-star hotel located in the north of downtown Osaka, in the heart of the business district. Opened in March 2020, this upscale hotel provides refined rooms and suites, with a beautiful view on the urban landscape and the city’s skyscrapers.
Osaka has two large touristic hubs with Umeda in the north and Namba in the south. Consequently, the central Chuo area and its grid-pattern avenues lined with high office buildings might not necessarily be the first pick for choosing a hotel 🏨.
However, it is definitely in this hush business area that the new Royal Park Hotel Iconic Osaka Midosuji opened on March 16, 2020. Despite an unfortunate timing with the beginning of the Covid-19 🦠 pandemic, the establishment nonetheless went to great lengths to promote its inauguration. Hence it offered us the occasion to spend one night at the hotel and discover its various features.
At the top of an office building
Whether by public transportation or by car 🚙, the hotel is conveniently located on Mido-suji avenue, halfway through Honmachi and Yodoyabashi subway 🚇 stations. You will find the lobby at the 15th floor, as well as:
- The reception,
- A conference room,
- A bar and a restaurant of French inspiration, where breakfast is served as a buffet.
Moreover, the hotel’s immediate vicinity also provides a large choice for eating out, with Japanese restaurants at the building’s ground floor, a Family Mart and a large supermarket within a five minutes’ walk.
From the lobby, you can have a beautiful view of the city and the incessant ballet of cars. As the night is falling, a superb nightly urban panorama emerges, illuminated by the streets and the buildings’ lighting. Depending on the side of the hotel, famous monuments such as Osaka Castle 🏯, Tsutenkaku Tower or Abeno Harukas are part of the view.
Elegant and convenient rooms
The 352 rooms are distributed in the upper floors, of which the two last ones "Executive Floors" have the most luxurious services. From the 21m² "Comfort" room to the more than 100m² suite, the accommodation range is wide. We recommend choosing a "Corner Room", whose bathroom 🛁 is advantageously fitted with an additional large window.
All rooms are well furnished and it is always possible to choose between two double beds or a king size bed, note however that the latter can be constituted by two simple beds adjoined. A bathtub is available in all rooms and the largest ones have in addition an Italian-style shower. There is also a sufficient number of electric and USB sockets, especially near the bed, as well as a good Internet 📶 connection.
The decoration is sober and elegant, with some touches of color to warm up the atmosphere. The carpeted floor also contributes to the quietness of the place. Lastly, the Executive rooms have a slightly distinctive design.
The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Osaka Midosuji provides various other services, such as:
- A gym (complementary),
- A lounge available throughout the day (additional fee required), and,
- A self-service laundry corner at the 23rd floor, with four washing machines. An additional fee is required for their use and it is possible to check from the rooms’ TV whether they are available or not.
An interesting price-quality ratio
The last advantage of this beautiful luxury hotel is the affordable price per night: on average from ¥17,000 (~US$120.65) to ¥25,000¥ (~US$177.40) for a large room for two guests, at the time of writing. Considering the level of service and the newness of the facility, it is quite a bargain that we hope will last over time.
