Hotel WBF Hommachi (Review)
Affordable, Basic Lodging In Downtown Osaka
Hotel WBF Hommachi is a 3-stars hospitality facility located near Honmachi subway station, in downtown Osaka in Japan. Its convenient central location makes it easy to reach the city’s main touristic sites, while offering a good value-for-money.
Hotel 🏨 WBF Hommachi ‘s prime advantage is its very convenient location: right in the city center, half way to Umeda in the north, and Namba in the south and the Osaka Castle 🏯 Park in the east. It is therefore easy to move around walking or by metro in Kansai area’s economic capital, as the large underground station Honmachi is only 300 meters away from the hotel.
This lively urban environment guaranties to find many restaurants, bars and shops open every day and in the evening in the hotel’s neighborhood. On the downside, the hotel is also located next to major roads and the traffic noise can be heard from the rooms, something that guests can find either soothing or disturbing, and the use of earplugs for sleeping is highly recommended.
Ready-to-use standard rooms
Hotel WBF Hommachi has 182 rooms divided into 3 comfort categories spread over 10 floors, with each a hosting capacity of 1 to 2 guests at most:
- Semi-Double Rooms are the smallest rooms, with a 12m² superficies and a Western-style double-bed;
- Double Rooms have a 15m² superficie, suitable for couples thanks to their large 154×195cm beds;
- Twin Rooms have the same superficie as the Double Rooms but with twin-beds.
While standard in Japan, the rooms are relatively small and not adapted when traveling with a large suitcase, which has to be opened on the bed, and remain closed and stowed so as not to be in the way.
The compact rooms are nonetheless equipped with all necessary amenities to sleep, relax and clean in the rooms. You’ll find the standard equipment of a business hotel, namely:
- A classical Japanese plastic bathroom 🛁 unit, with a small tub and a WC;
- Air conditioning and air purifier;
- A desk area with a chair and a safe;
- An electric kettle with tea and coffee, and a mini-fridge;
- A Wi-Fi internet 📶 connection;
- A flat screen TV hanging on the wall with a VOD option;
- Double-layered curtains for the night.
A set of towels and pajamas are also provided, as well as self-service cosmetics in the lobby.
There is no restaurant in the hotel, but a buffet breakfast, including savory and sweet food, is served every morning in the ground floor’s communal room.
Thanks to its rather welcoming English-speaking staff, Hotel WBF Hommachi is a good and affordable place for a short stay in Osaka.
